The ignition system of the vehicle plays the vital role of creating a high-energy spark that will ignite the fuel and air mixture at exactly the right time so that the engine will operate smoothly and productively. In High Energy Ignition (HEI) where there is no central post, the ignition coil is positioned on top of the distributor. Inside the cap is a terminal that corresponds to each post and the plug terminals are positioned around the circumference so that they are set to a correct firing order and send the secondary voltage to the right spark plug at the right time.
